Phil Wickham
Phil Wickham est né le 5 Avril 1984 à San Diego en Californie.
Phil a grandit dans une famille chrétienne et est le deuxième de trois enfants (son frère Evan et sa soeur Jillian). D’ailleurs son père est leader dans la louange et son frère est aussi un musicien. La foi de Phil grandissante, il a commencé à diriger la louange pour son groupe de jeune à 12 ans. Phil a obtenu son diplôme à Calvery Christian School à Vista, Californie en 2002.
Les parents de Phil, John et Lisa, l’ont encouragé à aprendre des chants de louange populaires et d’écrire les siens. Ainsi Phil Wickham a commencé sa carrière plein temps en Californie et a enregistré son premier album. Le 2 novembre 2008, Phil s’est marié avec une amie de longue date, Mallory Plotnik, aussi étudiante à Calvary Christian School.
Après son album indépendant Give you My World en 2003, Phil a signé avec Simple Records et sort son deuxième album Cannons en 2007. Cet album est inspiré en autre du livre de C.S Lewis, “the Voyage of the Dawn” de “Chronicles of Narnia“. Phil a déclaré dans une interview avec ChristianityToday.com que cet album parle de l’univers explosant de la Gloire de Dieu. Le piste 10 de cet album, “Jesus Lord of Heaven”, a été traduite en 7 langues!
Le 8 août 2008, Phil sort un album live intitulé “sinalong” et enregistré à Solid Rock à Portland, Oregon, avec 3000 fans. Cet album est disponique en téléchargement libre sur son site web et a été téléchargé plus de 8000 fois la première semaine!
Le jeudi 17 avril 2009, durant un concert à la Calvery Church de Santa Ana en Californie, Phil a fait savoir qu’il était occupé sur un nouvel album!
